Happy Wonder Years Wednesday to everyone!
Well, through a crazy chain of events, I have finally done it and started a brand new blog. I was able to keep the same URL as the one I started a while back. I guess that's because this one is going to be a lot like that one. However, I am resigning from Adenine Records, putting the final nails in the coffins of my old bands on hiatus. I will never take part of any reunions of these bands and as harsh as this sounds, I don't have any plans to talk to any of my former band members again. I am in need of a clean slate, a new start, and a band that I can be proud of.
I'm not the same crazy kid I used to be. In the past few months, I have gotten my life together. I have stopped smoking weed, stopped drinking, stopped smoking cigarettes, and have gone completely straightedge (minus the sex part. I mean, I'm not sleeping around with random chicks. I'm actually in a committed relationship). I think it's the best decision I have ever made and I think that I'm finally a person that I can be proud of. I'm not trying to influence anybody to go straightedge here... It's something that I needed to do and it's not a lifestyle that is for everyone. I just want you all to know that I'm happy and I have a better outlook on my life.
My new band is called Thanks For Nothing and I must admit that I probably have never worked with a better group of musicians. The band is
Haley Russell- Vocals/ Occasional guitar (that is if she still would like to)
Nate 'Naterz' -Guitar/ Bass Guitar/ Keys/ Occasional Drums/ backing vocals
Ryan 'Your' Luna- Guitar/ Bass Guitar/ Keys/ Occasional Vocals
Mitri 'Thumper' McCawley- Drums/Vocals/Keys
A lot of the songs that we have been writing are pop-punk with hints of a metal influence, but we really are very broad with our interests and what we want to do with this band. We have discussed post-rock, jazz, and maybe even some rap. I really don't like being tied down to one genre, but if need be, we will start side project bands to work on things other than Pop-Punk. I also, don't think I've had a band that has had so much potential right from the start. I'm extremely excited to see where we go from here.
